Instructions to make Handvo (Savoury Cake):
- Take Handvo atta, add curd, ginger- garlic paste and salt as per taste. Mix all the ingredients well till you get a batter of thick consistency. Do not add water.
- Cover the mixture with a lid and let it sit still for 5 hours.
- After 5 hours, you can see that the flour has risen due to fermentation. Add 1 medium bowl boiled/ frozen green peas to it and mix it properly.
- Heat oil in a Kadai (deep frying vessel). After the oil becomes hot, add mustard seeds and wait till the spluttering is over. Then add white sesame seeds and curry leaves. After that add 2 tbsp of batter into it. Lower the flame to medium. Cover the kadai with a lid for 5-7 minutes till it becomes golden brown on one side.
- After 5-7 minutes, carefully flip the handvo to the other side. Again cover it with lid and cook for 5-7 minutes. Alternate between medium to low heat. Occasionally check that the handvo doesn't get burnt on any side.
- When it is done, remove on a plate, cut the handvo into 4 pieces with a knife and serve hot with green chutney and ketchup.
- Ready to serve and ENJOY!
