Steps to make Tavsali - Goan Cucumber cake:
  1. Wash, clean, peel, deseed and grate the cucumber. (Reserve the water that come from the cucumber for later use)
  2. Clean and roast semolina or rava and add it to the grated cucumber along with jaggery and coconut and a little of the reserved cucumber water. Let this mixture soak for sometime.
  3. Next add the dry fruits, cardamom powder and the butter and mix well.
  4. Now grease a heavy bottom dish or baking tray and pour this mixture into it.
  5. Stream the mixture in a steamer or use a pressure cooker and stream it for around half hour or till done.
  6. Once done, cool and serve.
  7. Note: I have used regular cucumbers to make this recipe but you can use the larger ones available in the market also.If the mixture is too dry, you can add a little milk.
