To begin with this recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can have marble idli cake using 10 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Marble Idli Cake:
  1. Prepare 3/4 Cup Maida/APF
  2. Make ready 1/4 tsp or To Taste Salt
  3. Get 1 Whole Egg
  4. Take 1/4 Cup Fresh Milk: Boiled and RT
  5. Get 1/2-3/4 Cup Caster Sugar
  6. Take 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  7. Take 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  8. Get 1/4 Cup Melted Butter/Olive Oil
  9. Get 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  10. Make ready 2-2.5 tbsps Cocoa Powder: Unsweetened

Fold in maida/ all purpose flour gently. Now divide the batter into two equal parts. To one part mix cocoa powder and keep the other part plain. This is my first marble cake and I wanted to have less of marble effect too.

Instructions to make Marble Idli Cake:
  1. Add in a blender jar all the ingredients aforesaid except the baking powder & soda and breaking open the whole egg into it- Blend it nicely to a smooth mixture/batter- Pour it out into a separate bowl and mix in it now the reserved baking soda & powder & give it all a nice mix
  2. Now, in another separate small mixing bowl: Add in about 4 tbsps from the main batter & in that 2nd portion, mix it nicely up with the cocoa powder & give it all a very good mix until all’s nicely combined and well blended
  3. Now, take an idli mould and grease it with some oil/butter & then, just like in the similar pattern of layering up any marble cake- Do the same in each of the idli moulds (as many are therein in yours & if required, do it in batches)- With the help of a wooden toothpick/thin skewer make the haywire pattern (marble ones)
  4. Now, bake it in a preheated oven at 180C, for about 15 mins time max. Alternatively, this can be done without the oven too & in that it’d again take you a min. 12-15 max. Also, note that, even in this too preheating is required, which actually hastens the process & helps in proper & even baking/steaming processes- As I’ve done in the Appam Patra
  5. Turning off the oven allow it to rest inside for another 5-6 mins time before de-moulding it & serve it with hot tea 🫖 or coffee along with your BREAKFAST Platters…ENJOY 💁🏻‍♀️
  6. Ready to serve and ENJOY!

To one part mix cocoa powder and keep the other part plain. This is my first marble cake and I wanted to have less of marble effect too. This cake is simple and yummy, and looks pretty.
